Put a couple of large flat, greased baking sheets in.

Put the flour and the sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Cut the butter into small cubes and drop them into the bowl, mixing with the flour using either wooden spoon or your fingers. You are looking to mix the, erm, mixture, into something approaching breadcrumbs.

Break the egg into a cup and add enough milk to top it up to about half full mix it really well.

Add about a third of the mixture to the bowl and use it to bind the mixture together, mix it with your hands. If it it not sticking together too well add a little more, if it is too wet, add a little flour. You are looking to bit a nice firm ball of pastry.

Put it in the fridge and tidy up your work space.

Flour your work space, and your rolling pin. Cut a chunk of pastry from the big ball and roll it out.

You are looking to get the pastry about 6mm / 1/4 inch thick.

Grip, squeeze, pinch

Cut the pastry into small circles using a pastry cutter, glass or knife and a sharp eye and lay the circles out onto the hot and greased backing sheet.

Brush the pastry with the egg/milk mix and then add a small blog of jab or marmalade in the centre of the pastry and grab and pinch the pastry to create something that looks like a volcano.

Brush the outside of each volcano with the egg/milk mix and then put in the oven for around 10-12 minutes, or until they are browning.

Ready to Cook

Repeat the process until you have used all of the pastry.

Enjoy !

Ever wanted a sweet, tasty, eleventy-million calorie treat ?
